Girls Under-15 Camp: Day Four Recap

Camp concludes with cross-ice competition

The 2015 USA Hockey Girls Under 15 Player Development Camp came to a conclusion July 23 with a series of cross-ice competitions on Rink 1 and Rink 2 at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota. 

In the final camp standings, Team Black, Team Royal Blue and Team Light Blue all led the way with 2-0-1 records. Team Black paced the camp with a total of 16 goals scored in the three games played while Team Royal Blue and Team Light Blue led the camp on defense with just four goals apiece allowed during the camp.

Savannah Norcross (Team Black), Emily Young (Team Black) and Sara McClanahan (Team Royal Blue) were the camp’s top point producers with six points apiece. The trio all scored three goals and three assists for their squads over the week.

Kiersten Goode of Team Orange was the camp’s top goal scorer with five markers to her credit, while Team Black’s Eleanor Moser, Team Royal Blue’s Jillian Parsons and Team Light Blue’s Mackenize Rugland all had four assists apiece to lead the Under 15 campers in assists.

In the nets, Team Black’s Angela Hawthorne led the goals against category with a 0.62 goals-against average, while Team Vegas’ Hannah Lindey and Team Royal Blue’s Kelly Pickreign ranked second with a 0.67 goals-against average.

The Under 15 Player Development Camp was hosted by St. Cloud State University.
