Girls Under-15 Camp: Day Two Recap

Team Gold, Team Royal Blue Earn Shutouts

The second day of action at the USA Hockey Girls U15 Player Development Camp saw Team Teal score a 4-3 overtime victory over Team Red in the first game on Rink One at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud. Malia Leverson chalked up the game winner in overtime for Team Teal as the team’s other goals were added by Briland Laycock, Kelsey King and Abby Latorella.

In another game decided in overtime, Team Black and Team Light Blue skated to a 3-3 draw. Emily Young had two goals and Annie Bloomer had one goal for Team Black, while Light Blue goals were notched by Allie Cornelius, Anna Segedi and Mia Fusco.

Team White charted a 6-3 win over Team Orange. Brooke Bryant scored two goals for Team White, while Molly Flanagan gained the game winner in the contest. Kiersten Goode also had two goals for Team Orange.

Team Gold goalies Phobe Autio and Arielle DeSmet combined for 19 saves in a 1-0 shutout over Team Grey. The lone goal in the game was credited to Team Gold’s Lauren Spino in the second period.

Team Royal Blue continued the shutout trend with a 4-0 victory over Team Pink. Kelly Pickering and Madelyn Morgan combined for 24 saves in the contest for Team Royal Blue. Sara McClanahan, Angela Bucci, Alyson Niebur and Grace Lee all had goals for Royal Blues.

To complete the day, Team Vegas gained a 3-1 victory over Team Forest Green. Abigail Boreen, Haylee Blinkhorn and Emma Seitz all scored goals in the win for Team Vegas, while the lone goal for Forest Green was scored by Amelia Dipaola.
