The 2015 USA Hockey Girls Under-15 Development Camp at St. Cloud State University’s Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota opened game competition on July 19. In the first game of the day on rink one, Team Black defeated Team Gold by a 4-2 margin. Emily Young, Olivia Lin, Savannah Norcross and Eleanor Moser all scored goals for Team Black in the contest, while Team Gold scores were added by Sadie Peart and Reilly Springman.
Team Royal Blue continued the day with a 3-1 win over Team Vegas. Sara McClanahan and Miceala Sindoris posted goals in the win for Team Royal, while Team Vegas’ solo goal was notched by Emma Seitz.
In the camp’s first shutout, Team Light Blue scored a 4-0 win over Team Forest Green. The goalie tandem of Alexa Dobchuk and Gwyneth Phillips combined for 14 saves in the game for Team Light Blue, while the team’s goals were added by Madison Brown, Graysen Myers, Morgan Shines and Allyson Simpson.
Team Orange gained a 4-1 win over Team Teal. Team Orange’s Kiersten Goode had two goals in the game including the game winner, while teammate Annika Brodt had a goal and an assist for Orange.
Team Red opened its game versus Team White with three unanswered goals to earn a 4-1 win. Team Red had goals by Shana Cote, Emma Kee, Elana Zingas and McKenzie Habert on the way to the victory.
Day One at the camp ended with a 4-3 OT victory by Team Grey over Team Pink. After a scoreless first period, both teams traded leads with three goals apiece in the second period. Britta Curl had two goals for Team Pink in the contest, while Lillia Schied knotted the game at 3-3 for Team Grey with 2:30 left in the second period. In the OT session, Team Grey prevailed with the game-winning goal by Mandi Granto.
