Six goaltenders earn shutouts

Opening Day Performances: Several players began the camp with outstanding performances in their opening game. Six goaltenders posted shutouts in their debuts: Ryan Bischel (Team Black), Gabriel Vinal (Team Royal Blue), Cameron McKennitt Jr. (Team Red), Ethan Peterson (Team Columbia Blue), William Girard IV (Team Forest Green) and Keith Petruzzelli (Team Gray). Meanwhile, Team Kelly Green goaltenders Mitchell James and Joseph Lamoreaux each allowed just one goal. Offensively, Riley Prattson (Team Black), Cole Guttman (Team Black), Hayden Rowan (Team Columbia Blue) and Tyce Thompson (Team Royal Blue) all lit up the scoreboard with three-point performances.

Competition Format: Each team will compete in five games in an effort to compile the most points and win its division title. Goal differential serves as the tiebreaker. Points are awarded as follows: Regulation Win (3), Shootout Win (2), Shootout Loss (1).

Did You Know: Christopher Trouba’s (Team White) brother Jacob, an alum of USA Hockey's National Team Development Program, recently completed his second season as a defenseman with the Winnipeg Jets, totaling 89 points in his first two years. Jacob has helped the United States to two IIHF Men's Under-18 World Championships, a gold medal at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship and a bronze medal at the 2013 IIHF Men's World Championship.
