Girls Select U18: Day Four Recap

The 2013 USA Hockey Girls’ Select U18 Player Development Camp completed its final day of games on July 16 at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.

The final two games were All-Star games on July 16.  In the first All-Star game of the day, the Team White All-Stars scored a 1-0 victory over the Team Blue All-Stars.  Team White scored its lone goal in the first period with a marker by Bailey Larson.  Alexis Mauermann and Sophie Skarzynski both charted assists on the goal by Larson.  In the nets, Team White’s goalie duo of Maddie Rooney and Brooke Wolejko combined for 23 saves in the game.  Team Blue’s goalie pair of Kyra Smith and Hannah Ehresmann also turned in a solid effort with 28 saves in the game.

The Development Camps game schedule was completed with a 2-1 win by the Team White All-Stars over the Team Blue All-Stars in game two.  Mackenzie Lancaster charted the game-winner for Team White in the second period, while her squad’s first goal was notched in the first period by Taylar Cianfarano.  Audrey Warner broke the shutout for Team Blue with a goal in the second period.  Brooke Ahbe and Caitrin Lonergan each had assists on the play for Team Blue.  In goal for Team White, Brittney Bugalski and Shannon Ropp posted 14 saves, while Team Blue’s Kaitlin Burt and Erin O’Neil had a total of 28 saves.
