Youth Select 16: Championship Recap

  • Capping off a Stellar Week: Kelly captured the Select 16 championship, ousting Grey by a score of 6-3 on Saturday morning.  With the victory, Kelly finished with a flawless 6-0 overall record and also averaged an impressive 7.3 goals-per-game over the course of the week.  Sam McCormick (No. 12) tallied three points (2G, 1A) in the winning effort, while No. 9 Lincoln Griffin (1G, 1A) and No. 10 Chase Jungels (0G, 2A) chipped-in two each.  For Grey, Alexander Debrincat (No. 8) netted a hat trick, and Alec Mehr (No. 12) added a pair of assists).
  • Blue All-Stars Prevail: The Blue All-Star team defeated the White All-Stars by a score of 4-2 to closeout the Select 16 camp.  Troy Terry (No. 8) contributed a goal and an assist for Blue, while Jason Dhooge (No. 15), Will Garin (No. 17) and William D'Orsi (No. 9) all scored once.  Austin Alger (No. 16) also finished with a pair of assists and Nick Vilardo (No. 1) and Matt Jurusik (No. 30) combined to earn the victory between the pipes.  Carson Gicewicz (No. 10) and Jeremy Bracco (No. 18) each lit the lamp for White in the loss. 
  • More to Come: The final two development camps are scheduled to take place at the Northtown Center next week.  The Sled Select Camp runs from July 13-18, while the Select 15 Camp hits the ice from July 14-20.
