  • A Rare Feat: Monday's bout between Kelly and Grey was highlighted by a trio of hat-tricks. This impressive effort came from Kelly's Sam McCormick (No. 12) and Chase Jungels (No. 10), as well as Grey's Alec Mehr (No. 12).  Kelly came out with the victory by a score of 7-3.
  • Overcoming a Tough Start: After falling behind, 2-0, early in its opening game, Red stormed back with four consecutive tallies and eventually held on for a 5-4 win over Royal.
  • Illustrious Leaders: Two of the teams featured in the Select 16 Camp will have the privilege of playing under the tutelage of a pair of USA Hockey greats this week in Tony Amonte (Grey) and Tom Chorske (Royal).

Amonte skated in over 1,100-career NHL contests, amassing an impressive 900 points to place him 12th all-time amongst American-born players.  Over that time, the Hingham, Mass. native played in five NHL All-Star Games and was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 1992.  Amonte also made two Olympic appearances for Team USA (1998, 2002).  He is currently the head coach of the varsity team at Thayer Academy.

Chorske, meanwhile, enjoyed an 11-year NHL career, compiling 237 points over 596 games and won a Stanley Cup in 1995 while skating as a member of the New Jersey Devils. Chorske named Minnesota’s Mr. Hockey as the state’s top high school player in 1985 and had a decorated two-year career with the University of Minnesota.
