  • Roster Update: Royal's No. 6 Brandon Schieman (Injured), Columbia's No. 9 Gregory Aliotta (Injured),  Forest's No. 6 Jacob Wilson (Injured) and Black's No. 3 Noah Hanifin (Unspecified) did not take part in Wednesday's action.
  • Stat Correction: Please note a change in the online boxscore for Tuesday's bout between Forest and Orange. Forest goaltender Matthew Jurusik (No. 30) should be credited with 15 saves on 16 shots as opposed to the previous entry of 16 saves on 21 shots.
  • Father Knows Best: Slightly raised stakes for those involved characterized Wednesday’s game between Orange and Columbia.  The contest featured a battle of wits between father and son team leaders – Mike Bonish Sr., (Columbia) and Mike Bonish Jr. (Orange) – with the winner coming away with bragging rights.  In the end, it was Columbia who battled back from a pair of 2-0 deficits, both in regulation play and in the shootout, for a 3-2 victory.  Nolan Aibel (No. 8), Will Garin (No. 11), Tiernan Seningen (No. 15) and Evan Weinger (No. 18) each found the back of the net in the seven-round shootout, while goalie Andrew Herrmann (No. 1) denied four-of-seven Orange shooters to obtain the extra point.
  • Unleashing the Offense: Wednesday also produced the highest scoring game of the week thus far when Kelly ousted White by a score of 8-6.  Kelly received multiple-point efforts from five different skaters, with the most notable being three goals and four points from Shane Sellar (No. 18).  Brock Boeser (No. 8) chipped-in an additional three points and Nicholas Skaluba (No. 7), Hunter Lester (No. 11) and Nicholas Passafiume (No. 17) tallied two apiece.  The performance marked the third consecutive game in which Kelly has lit the lamp seven or more times.
  • U.S. College Hockey Continues to Shine: The Chicago Blackhawks used 12 former college players in its run to the Presidents’ Trophy and Stanley Cup this past season. Only Vancouver (15) had more NCAA alums on its roster ... The recently named staff members of the 2014 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team all played college hockey: David Poile (Northeastern), Dan Bylsma (Bowling Green), Ray Shero (St. Lawrence) and Brian Burke (Providence) ... In 2013-14, at least seven NHL arenas will host college hockey games, as will MLB stadiums Fenway Park and Comerica Park ... Forty-two former college players have played at least 1,000 NHL games ...
